The Gates Racing RPM timing belt is an upgraded option for BMW M20 engines, offering increased strength, heat resistance, and wear resistance over the standard belt. Order the belt on its own or configure it with the tensioner, tensioner spring and pin, and water pump options above.

If adding a tensioner, we recommend the INA OEM option for stock rebuilds or the PPF billet tensioner for performance and high-horsepower builds. You can also add a new OE BMW tensioner spring, a reconditioned Original BMW tensioner pin, and an early (1987 and older) or late (1988 and newer) water pump.
PPF billet tensioner: includes the yellow zinc-coated socket head bolt and flat washer for mounting to the block. The tensioner bearing bolt ships loose and must be torqued to spec during installation.
